HashtagHaveWeMet?

So now that Instagram and I have established a friendship and are well on our way to being besties, I've made it my personal mission to find Instagram friends. This particular Instagram friend comes in the form of a New York based shibu inu, who goes by the handle @mensweardog. This dapper dawg knows how to rock a tie and is one of the many reasons why I love the internet.
Seriously, is this not the best thing you've ever seen?

HashtagHaveYouSeen?

Ryan Gosling.

The name is so beautiful it deserves it's own line. Over the years it seems I've formed somewhat of a celebrity crush on the guy. Yip, I've been batting my lashes at him through the TV screen ever since we met in 2004. Turns out he had a thing for another girl.. Rachel McAdams, bitch. I like to think that he'll respond to my telepathic love signals some day.
One can dream.

Anyways, some clever internet person thought they'd be funny and post these eyebrow-less photos of ol' Ryan. Well, I'd personally like to high five that clever internet person, maybe even buy them a coke or something, cause this is hilarious.

HashtagHaveYouHeard?

I was recently introduced to Lord Huron (credit to my brother, Steve, I am forever in your debt), a Los Angelas based band who have filling up my playlists and caressing my ears for the past few weeks. Their debut album Lonesome Dreams was only released in late 2012, but dayum these freshman have got something good going on. Lonesome Dreams (the track below) is one of my favourites. 'Av a listen if you'd like.

HashtagHaveYouHeard?

A few Tuesday's ago my brother came home from work and handed me a half opened packet of green cheddars (you know, the one with all the mini snack-sized cheddar packets inside? No? You have not lived!) I smiled and thanked him, as one does when receiving an unexpected gift.. And then silently whispered "I don't eat the green ones" under my breath.
But there was something very different about this packet of cheddars, despite the fact that it looked like it had been mangled by a 3 year old in an attempt to get to the contents, this packet seemed heavier than usual. My suspicions were telling me the cheddars were hiding something.
A secret. A hefty-sized secret.
One by one I removed the mini snack-sized cheddar packets, and then I saw it.
The sleek white box, the half-bitten apple logo, the Helvetica-like text. I'd seen it around before, I knew what it was, I knew it recognized me too. We sussed each other out for a moment, and then it was as if a ray of sunlight broke from the clouds - I could've sworn I'd heard the angels sound the hallelujah chorus - it jumped out the packet and into my hands and we've been inseparable ever since.

Megan Carrie
is now in a relationship
with her
iPhone

With this budding new romance on the go, iPhone has introduced me to some of it's friends. One worth mentioning - Instagram - duh. Find me here or if you prefer using search tools, my handle is @megcarrie.

Shifting focus off the iPhone for a few moments, I'd like to dedicate this post to my brother, Andrew James Carrie, who, out of the kindness of his heart just decided, out of the blue, that he "wanted to bless me", not only with an iPhone, but a cover and an olloclip too. I mean, c'mon, that's pretty incredible, right? Shout outs and love to you brother, your generosity has blown me away.

HashtagHaveYouEver?

Wanderlust (wan-der-lust). n. A very strong or irresistable impulse to travel.

This definition is just about right, except for the part where they forgot to attach my picture next to it. That's right folks, I have been bitten by the travel bug and there ain't no cure. Some of the symptoms (as I am told by highly trained experts) are: endless hours of googling exotic travel destinations, constant visits to airline websites and the occasional bank balance check, which is promptly followed by a good-hearty sob. The following 'slideshow' if you will, is a result of these symptoms. Before you scroll down you may want to consider what you're getting yourself into.

I, Megan Carrie, will not be held responsible for any travel-bug symptoms that occur hereafter .

Battery Park, New York

Winter in Kyoto, Japan

Lover's Tunnel, Ukraine

Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye, Scotland

Moraine Lake, Canada

Sardinia, Italy

Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana, USA

To Sua Ocean Trench in Lofoga, Samoa

Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Cherry Blossom Lake, Sakura, Japan

Santorini, Greece

Mount Fuji, Japan

Marina Bay Sands Sky Park, Singapore

Hidden Beach on Marietas Islands in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Venice, Italy

Wisteria Tunnel at Kawachi Fuji Gardens, in Kitakyushu, Japan

Giola Beach in Thassos, Greece

Moss Garden at Saiho Ji in Kyoto, Japan

Warning: Wanderlust is contagious and should not be taken lightly.

HashtagBlogCrush

For the past few months I've had my eye on a particular blog - shooting glances at it from across the room, batting my eyelashes and flicking my hair from behind the screen of my laptop. It seems I've formed somewhat of a blog crush. So, I thought it a good time to confess my undying love for What My Boyfriend Wore. There, I said it. Now that it's public knowledge I guess I should tell you a bit more about the object of my blog-affection. The genius behind it all is Misha Coetzee, of the popular blog-turned-website brandslut. Misha started out by taking photos of her dapper boyfriend in his classy get-up and posting them on Instagram, which then grew into a tumblr,  and finally became a fully-fledged blog of stylish proportion. Menswear never looked so suave (proof below).
