HashtagHaveYouSeen?

If you're unfamiliar with the term 'stop motion', it's time you get familiar. A few years ago, during my 'uneducated stop motion' phase (it was a dark time in my life), a friend of mine showed me this video, and to this day it's still one of my favourite music videos. And without further adieu, your first lesson in stop motion comes in the form of Oren Lavie's 'Her Morning Elegance'.
Class dismissed (for now).

If you'd prefer to watch it on Youtube here's the link.

HashtagHaveYouHeard?

'Ben Howard' and 'Remix' - a combination of words I would never have put together in a sentence, let alone a song title. But, much to my surprise, I have been proved very wrong by Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, an Australian electro-duo who also go by the name Peking duK. Half-time beats and 'wait for the drop' moments make Meg very happy.
Well played boys, well played.

HashtagHaveYouSeen?

Ever come out of a movie with the recurring "I feel so alive" thought bouncing against the walls of your brain? Well, I found myself in that head space a few days ago after watching The Perks of  being a Wallflower. And so it officially gets my stamp of blog-post-approval. Quirky humor contrasted with a heavy story line and some unexpected twists and turns made for a very satisfied customer. And yes, I cried (no one else did). Turns out I'm a bit of a softy.

You can watch the trailer here if you'd like.

HashtagHaveWeMet?

Everyone, meet Petra, the Swedish 15-year-old taking Lookbook by storm. Rewind a few words back, cause I know what you're thinking, 15? FIFTEEN. What? She's just come out of her awkward phase, she's not supposed to have style? Well, she does. And along with this killer style she has a killer blog too. Have a squizz if you can deal with feeling like a bit of an underachiever.

HashtagHaveYouHeard?

Right, now that we have the awkward 'Hey, I started a blog' post out the way, I'm moving swiftly on to a tasty treat for your ears. Meet Miami Horror, a 4 man Australian band that have been spreading their magical beats since 2008. This little piece of foot-tapping goodness has been on my playlist for the past few days and I thought it best to share it with the cyber world. 'I Look to You' features another artist worth mentioning -  Kimbra (who you might recognize from Gotye's track 'Somebody that I Used To Know').

HashtagFreshman

It’s my first day in the blogosphere, and I can only compare it to my first day of school – with my palms a little damp from the combination of nerves and Durban’s humidity, I sheepishly walk through the corridor. To my left – the older, much cooler blog-teens look down on me as they judge my layout and font choice from behind the frames of their hipster glasses, and to my right – the grammatical Nazis search through my sentence construction, waiting to pounce on any misplaced comma or misspelled word. It’s scary being a freshman, go easy on me.
